Brand Ambassador

About the Position:
Brand Ambassadors are the face of Shannon Brewing Company at on- and off-premise events, festivals and tastings. Brand Ambassadors enthusiastically represent the brewery, our beer and unique brewing process to the end consumer, retailers, bar personnel and beer enthusiasts. He or she will be responsible for managing all aspects of the target events. This is a very fun part-time position that requires professionalism, self-starting, organization and commitment. This position will be considered for appropriate full-time employment should that be mutually desirable.

The Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate must have a passion for beer and the brewing industry. He or she must be willing to learn and thoroughly understand the Shannon Brewing Company brand differentiators. The ideal candidate will have a passion for being in front of people, solving problems and creating value for the company and its customers. A cicerone certificate is not necessary but very desirable.

Job Purpose:
The Brand Ambassadors’ primary responsibility will be to build the Shannon Brewery brand by representing the brewery at tastings, pint nights, festivals, beer dinners and similar events. The Brand Ambassadors’ primary goal is to increase sales by encouraging event participants to sample the brewery’s beer and accurately conveying the brewery’s brand differentiators.

Duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Managing all aspects of the assigned brewery event.
  • Setting up brewery tent and sales collateral at events.
  • Engaging event participants and encouraging beer samples.
  • Train, engage and inspire crowds as well as individual consumers.
  • Assist in maintaining all event equipment — tables, tents, jockey boxes, etc.
  • Responsible for reviewing program materials, set up and break down of the work area, and the preparation and sampling of products on scheduled event days.
  • Generate brand awareness and positive product impressions to increase sales.
  • Assess customers individual usage needs and interests in order to best recommend products.
  • Assist in managing inventory control of event materials/supplies.
  • Assist in sales facilitation: occasionally recommending beer for internal sales staff and distributor relationships.
  • Assist in on-site QA/QC standards: occasionally visiting customer sites, cleaning taps/lines and teaching best practices.
  • Provide and receive continual innovation and improvements.
  • Working evenings, weekends and occasional holidays.

 Compensation: Part-Time Hourly

Requirements, Skills and Experience:

  • Must be 21+ years of age.
  • Strong understanding of craft beer styles or willingness to learn quickly.
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from events.
  • Must have current TABC serving certification or be willing to acquire it.
  • Previous experience as server, bartender or have worked with alcohol in past is desired.
  • Possess an entrepreneurial spirit and passion for beer.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • The ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking capabilities, strong communication skills; verbal, listening and written

Evening and weekend work is required.
